Ben Allen
Ben Allen is the lead recruiter, coordinator, and media specialist for the Bredesen Center at the University of Tennessee. After earning his bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Cellular, and Molecular Biology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Ben joined the Bredesen Center staff, where he continues to pursue his passion for science through a variety of projects and activites. As a recruiter, Ben travels across the country to top tier universities in pursuit of high quality graduate students with science and engineering backgrounds in order to bring them to work at the University of Tennessee and Oak Ridge National Laboratory. As a coordinator, Ben is responsible for monitoring and assisting the academic progress of graduate students in the Bredesen Center, in addition to helping facilitate opportunities for research collaboration and scientific networking. Additionally, Ben is highly skilled in organizational skills, as well as web design and audiovisual production. Currently, Ben is pursuing his Master's degree in Science Education at the University of Tennessee, with an interest in developing theory and practice for interdisciplinary STEM education from elementary to the post-graduate level. Ben is proud to be part of the Bredesen Center and is glad to contribute his efforts to advancing science education!
